Dear Friends & Supporters,

We are so pleased to share that our daughter Katie, the very first New Hope baby back in 2000, graduated this month from Dulwich College Beijing. Joyce and I were very proud to see her in her cap and gown. She has been a wonderful daughter and we will miss her very much later in the year when she heads off to college in Australia. Her life has been a sweet example of the seed we planted many, many years ago now growing into a beautiful flower.

In addition to Katie’s graduation, May was also a special month as we had a visit from one of our former babies. William came to us when he was 13 months old from a CWI in Henan. He had cerebral palsy and his chances for adoption were not very good. But God had some very special plans for him. It is a long story but a special family, the Owen family, did adopt William and took him back to the USA. He is now a 13-year-old amazing young teenager full of life and fun. It was for me (Robin) a testimony as to what God can do through a loving and special family. They have nurtured and loved William and released so much potential in him. I am really looking forward to hearing about his achievements in the future. Another picture of God’s reaping that began as a seed of obedience.

We were very grateful this month for new volunteer Inge from South Africa. She was with us doing the whole month of May and was a wonderful help with our preschool classes. Summer months will bring several new volunteers and we are thankful for the way in which they enrich our children’s lives.

We’ve also been really happy to have Laura and her daughter Lily, expats in Beijing, who have been coming once a week to read to some of our children. The children light up with excitement each week as Laura and Lily walk in with arms full of books!

Our thanks go to the many supporters that faithfully support us every month; we really do not want you to feel that we take you for granted. It is a real blessing to have so many of you committed to this work. We are still looking for a sponsor to help cover the US $45,000 that we need for our new gas fired boiler, which is presently being installed. We know this not as cute as sponsoring a baby but will be really important in a few months when winter comes again.

With Love and Gratitude,

Robin, Joyce and the New Hope Staff
We’re officially on Facebook! Thanks to the help from former volunteer Chloe Lee we now have an official public Facebook page. If you’re on Facebook, you can find us, like us and check for updates @NewHopeBeijing.
And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

Galatians 6: 9

This month:
7 new children were admitted into our care
13 children were adopted
10 children were hospitalized or had surgery
No children passed away

We recently received a bubble machine and we thought it would be really fun to incorporate it into this month’s big birthday celebration. Boy, was it a hit! The kids loved standing there as hundreds of bubbles fell over them; some trying to catch them, some trying to pop them, others just laughing with glee!

We will be posting some videos on our Facebook page in the coming days of our kids enjoying the bubble machine, so be sure to check it out!

Baby News and Movements from Beijing’s Hope Healing Home
Darkon, Laurie, Ray and Tom were all adopted this month! Kamen, who was in our care last year was also adopted. Alden, Alfonso, Daniela, Sage and Perry were transferred to Hope Healing Home. Kenzli had inpatient evaluation. Violet returned to her home orphanage to prepare for her upcoming adoption. Milla was transferred to our Zhengzhou Special Care Center in order to attend a school for blind and visually impaired children. We are very grateful that she has been given this opportunity.

News from our Henan Special Care Centers
